Add to Flipboard Magazine.  February 9,2017 by Android Custom ROM Fix

Nexus 9 tablet from HTC can now be installed with newest Android 7.1.1 N4F26Q Nougat firmware. Google has released a newer build this month titled Android 7.1.1 N4F26Q Nougat which houses the security patch for the month of February 2017. As for other changes in this build, there aren’t any except for bug fixes which you wont directly notice. Nonetheless, it is always a good idea to keep your devices updated to latest firmware in order to avoid any inconvenience. The installation of this firmware is quite easy. You can go to OTA(Over-the-air) update system or simply follow our manual guide below.

You Can Find Out How to Apply it Right Now Via This Easy Tutorial .

÷ Prerequisites:

•This tutorial is only for HTC Nexus 9 and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of this tablet.

•Your tablet can be on any previous Android version or even on a custom ROM. It doesn’t matter at all. This tutorial will still work for installing Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

•Your bootloader should be unlocked.

* Important:

Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files.

÷ How to Update Nexus 9 WiFi / LTE to Official Android 7.1.1 Nougat N4F26Q Factory Image

Step 1 – Download Android 7.1.1 Factory Image using the following links for Nexus 9 on your PC, if you haven’t already.

»Download Android 7.1.1 Image for Nexus 9 (WiFi).

»Download Android 7.1.1 Image for Nexus 9 (LTE).

Step 2 – Connect your Nexus 9 to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 – Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.

Step 4 – Turn OFF your tablet.

Step 5 – Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.

Step 6 – Now extract the downloaded file anywhere in your computer. Go to the folder volantis-N4F26Q and then copy/paste all the files to your Fastboot directory.

Step 7 – From the factory image files in your Fastboot directory, do the following depending which OS you are on:

On Windows: Run the file “flash-all.bat”.
On Mac: Run the file “flash-all.sh” using Terminal.
On Linux: Run the file “flash-all.sh”.
Step 8 – That’s pretty much that you had to do for flashing the stock factory image on your Nexus 9. Now wait and watch as the process is completed — or follow the on-screen instructions on your tablet if in case you have to unlock the bootloader.

Step 9 – After the installation completes, your tablet will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait with patience!

That’s it! Your Nexus 9 should now have the official Android 7.1.1 N4F26Q Nougat software update installed on your tablet using the stock factory image from Google! Go to Settings >About tablet to verify.
